Happy Apple Farm

We went to Happy Apple Farm on Friday to get our pumpkins. It is a family owned farm south of Colorado Springs. They have apple orchards, pumpkin patches and berry bushes. You can pick your own fruit there, go on hay rides and eat really good food in their deli. They also sell jellies, jams, honey, cider, and a lot of other stuff at only slightly high prices. The frost, unfortunately, took out their entire apple crop this year, so we just went for the pumpkins.

Heading into the pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkins.

Katie found hers.Tommy had really wanted to find Katie's pumpkin for her and was disappointed that she picked one out on her own. He settled for carrying it for her. Most of the blackberries had already been picked when we got there. The people who worked at the farm told us we could eat whatever we found. Tommy liked finding the few ripe blackberries that were left. He prides himself on having good eyes. He loved eating them as well. Katie just wanted to hold the berry she found. She finally ate it after carrying it around all day.A hayride back to the country store to spend way too much money on cider and jelly. We bought some straw bales too for our festive fall scene in front of our porch. The really big pumpkin is mine:)
