Tommy is playing T-ball this summer. He has really good coaches and a great team. I love how easy going it is at this level. I wish it could stay this way as he gets older but I know it will become competitive soon enough. He gets so excited when he catches the ball and tries to tag the runner. He is a very fast runner. The other day, he was playing at the park and just running the whole time we were there. Some little girls from church were there and they were trying to keep up with him but he just kept on running. We had to leave to go to his game and I was afraid he would be too tired to run there, but he wasn't winded at all. He definitely gets his running ability from his Dad.

And he can hit too!

Katie says she wants to play T-ball next year. She likes to do everything her big brother does. I'm surprised we can keep her off the field during the games. She likes to take him water and goldfish while he is sitting on the bench.
Whenever I ask Katie to do something, (or to stop doing something) she looks at Tommy as if to say, "what do you think? Should I listen to her?" It's pretty cute now and I even ask him to give her instructions sometimes because I know she will listen. I remind him that he needs to always do good things because his little shadow will be doing the same thing.
The kids really enjoy bowling. I worked a lot during the month of May and Mike was able to stay at home with the kids. He took them bowling a lot. So when we all went together, Tommy said it was all of them against me. Even though everyone did a great job and Tommy got a strike and two spares, Katie got a spare too...I still won! Thank goodness for bumpers. I used them more than once to secure my win.

Butterflies

We bought a butterfly treehouse at the store and ordered the caterpillars online. We got five caterpillars and watched them grow and form their chrysalis and turn into butterflies. We had the treehouse for a few weeks before the caterpillars came. Tommy would show it to everyone who came to the house. He was so excited. When the caterpillars came, I explained that we would watch them grow and turn into butterflies and then we would let them go. He started crying. He said he didn't want to lose them. It was so sweet. It made me think how hard it will be when he and Katie fly away on their own someday. The day we released them, he was just fine and everytime we see an orange butterfly we say it is probably one of ours.

Welcome to the world of blogging. Careful - it's pretty addictive! :) But a great way to keep a family history for those of us not so great at journaling or scrapbooking. And a great way to keep in touch with busy friends. Your kids are too cute. Hope you are having a great summer!
Lookin' good, Buttons!!! I'll definitely be a regular visitor - blogs are a great way to stay connected with folks far & wide. Take care!
