I drove the kids to Casper, Wyoming on Saturday for my great aunt June's 80th birthday party. My grandmother had 10 siblings and I have known 8 of them since I was a child. I have the best memories of them all. I loved our family get togethers. They are a very funny bunch and make me laugh like crazy to this day. There are only 3 sisters and 1 brother still with us. My aunt June reminds me most of my grandmother who passed away 5 years ago. I'm so glad we were able to share this fun day with her. I was a little nervous to take the kids on this road trip by myself but they were great. Wyoming looked so green and beautiful. I don't remember ever seeing it so green although it has always been beautiful to me.
This is my mother on the left with her cousins, Carol, Lorna, Laura and Sherri. Lorna and Laura are twins and Sherri is their sister. They are all hilarious!
Tommy found a new best friend. My cousin Bruchele's son, Bridger and Tommy were inseparable for the entire weekend.
This is the best climbing tree I have ever seen.
Thanks to whoever brought the bubbles. Katie and Tommy chased my mom around the whole day and blew bubbles right on her. Then Katie tossed back her head and laughed like it was the funniest thing she had ever seen. Everyone was very entertained.
June and her sister Dorothy are trying to help the twins determine who the people are in the old pictures they brought. They are awesome pictures of our family from way back that I hope they will scan and save for genealogy. Unfortunately, no one back then put any names on the pictures, so we may just be guessing as to who anyone is.
Katie is definitely Grandma's girl.
Mike flew into Casper after he was done with working in Chicago for the week. I picked him up at 11 pm on Sunday. Tommy and Katie were very tired from their fun weekend of meeting a lot of relatives they had never even heard of before. We drove back to Colorado just in time for Tommy's T-ball game. We woke him up at the park, put on his uniform and he ran out and had a great game.
